Project 048
A conservation easement on a 123.62 acre property will protect significant natural habitat and viewsheds along the Highway 11 Corridor in north Greenville County. With over 4,500 feet of frontage along Old Highway 11, the property affords views of towering mountains, hardwood forests, wetlands and Barton Creek. Analysis also shows that the land within this project area has a high influence on water quality; its preservation will help maintain the water quality of headwater streams that impact the overall quality of downstream waterways.

A historic home with surrounding acres overlook the Rocky Creek area of Pelham on Highway 14. Now surrounded by dense housing development, the house has stood for almost 200 years as testament to the region’s textile history.

Project 050
A South Carolina Century Farm, a homeplace with family farming history dating back to the late 1800s. Though the 250+ acre farm was split into two parcels a few years ago, it remains in the immediate family and both parcels will go under easement at the same time. The property features prime farmland, native hardwood forest, natural wetlands on Horse Creek, and 3,700 linear feet of rural scenic viewshed along Scott Road. The farm is centered in an area under long-term threat of suburban and industrial development.
