Greenville County’s Trust at Work

In late 2020, Greenville County Council created the Greenville County Historic & Natural Resources Trust (the Trust) — a citizen-led effort to protect the places that make our community special.

The Trust doesn’t do most conservation projects directly. Instead, we help make them possible — partnering with local governments and nonprofit organizations to leverage your tax dollars for lasting impact. These funds help purchase land or conservation easements, so that working forests, farms, historic landmarks, and treasured landscapes are protected for generations to come.

And in just four short years, the results speak volumes:

2,400 acres preserved – the equivalent of 40 Unity Parks

• Additions to all three state parks, plus the first acquisition for a fourth

• A new regional county park

• Protection of vital farmland

• Two irreplaceable historic properties saved

• And more!

This is what it looks like when we work together to safeguard what makes Greenville County one of the most beautiful and desirable places to live in America.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll share more about “your Trust” and the difference it’s making. Please help spread the word—forward this email to your family, friends, and neighbors, and encourage them to sign up for our Did You Know updates.

Together, we can ensure Greenville County grows while retaining its natural character and the best of our past.
